Who we are

Chez Rémi is operated by Riham Hamed, based in Cairo, Egypt. When you use this website or place an order, you are interacting with us. This policy explains what data we collect, why, and what your rights are.

Data we collect

When you place an order: name, email address, delivery address, phone number, payment details (processed by our payment provider — we do not store card numbers), and order history.

When you create an account: email address and any profile information you choose to add. We use passwordless login — no passwords are stored.

When you browse: anonymised analytics via Plausible Analytics (no cookies, no cross-site tracking, no personal identifiers). IP addresses are not stored.

When you contact us: the content of your message and your contact details.

When you subscribe to the newsletter: your email address and subscription date.

How we use your data

We use your data to: fulfil orders and communicate their status; respond to enquiries; send newsletters (only if you opt in); improve the website through anonymised analytics; and comply with legal obligations.

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes.

Data sharing

We share data only where necessary: with our payment provider to process payments; with our courier partners to deliver orders; with our email service provider to send transactional and newsletter emails. All third parties are contractually required to protect your data.

Data retention

Order data is retained for 7 years to comply with Egyptian tax law. Newsletter subscriptions are retained until you unsubscribe. Account data is retained until you request deletion.

Your rights

You have the right to access the data we hold about you, request correction, request deletion (where we are not legally required to retain it), and withdraw consent for marketing at any time.

Cookies

This site uses no tracking cookies. Session management uses a secure, HttpOnly cookie that expires when you close your browser or log out. Our analytics (Plausible) are cookieless. See our cookie policy for full details.

Security

All data is transmitted over HTTPS. Payment processing is handled by our PCI-compliant payment provider. Session tokens are cryptographically signed and stored in an edge KV store with short expiry.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes, we will update the date at the top of this page and notify registered customers by email.
